Marcus o’Mahoneys farmhouse is situated in southern Ireland in Blackwater Valley (Waterford County). The irish potter has a achieved quite a reputation in the irish pottery szene because of his exhibitions in different galleries in the UK.
Accomodation:
The accomodation is of high standard in either the Loft above the pottery or in the farmhouse adjacent to the pottery. In the Loft there are 2 double bedrooms and one single, with washbasin and hand-built furniture in every room, and a bathroom with a shower. The kitchen - livingroom is very confortable with cosy armchairs and a wood stove. The farmhouse also consists of 2 double bedrooms and one single. There are 2 bathrooms with bath/shower. The kitchen is traditional style yet well equipped and there is a very cosy living room.
There is also accomodation in local B&Bs,hotel and hostel.
Meals:
Meals are provided, including mid-morning and afternoon coffee/tea breaks. Students have breakfast in their respective abodes while lunch is buffet style, outside (weather permitting). The evening meal is family style , 2 meals are included in the 7-days-Saltglaze course and four evening - meals during the 10-days woodfiring course. The Cuisine is of a contemporary international nature, often vegetarian. The meals are freshly prepared daily, using local pruducts and Irish specialties.Wine is included.

Courses:
The potter has specialized in salt glazing and wood firing. This technique will be tought to the students and reveals a unique experience of decoration and firing.
There are also weekend and long weekend courses, please inquire for dates.

Comment:
espeacially interesting for those who already glazed and fired the common way, this course is a rich experience, but also beginners are very welcome.
